Travel update and news from the office – June 2020

Hi everyone

We’re now into June and lockdown is still in force albeit in slightly relaxed format. I thought I’d give you a quick update on what’s happening.

Some airlines have started to fly again however with FCO advise still advising against non essential travel for UK holidaymakers and new quarantine regulations now in force it seems that we aren’t going anywhere in the near future.

There is some hope for holidays abroad from July onwards. Resorts, hotels and airlines are looking at how they can operate safely so lets keep our fingers crossed.

UK breaks look hopeful from mid July, holiday parks may not have their full facilities available (pools, restaurants etc) but we are hopeful we can get away in the UK. I can book coastal, city and countryside breaks so if you’re planning on staying close to home this year get in touch now- demand is high (especially with this glorious weather)

2021 is set to be incredibly busy. Lots of people are changing their holidays from this year to next year, airlines have cut capacity, therefore prices will only increase.

Refunds and amended paperwork are taking a long time to come through, this is due to thousands and thousands of affected people plus suppliers with limited staff with their offices closed and staff on furlough. Wherever possible please change your holiday rather than cancel, not only will you be helping to save the travel industry it will save your frustrations of waiting for refunds (in some circumstances wont come through until Jan ’21)

In more positive news I welcomed a new addition to my office last month! Monte the cockapoo has been a wonderful distraction. Watch out for him on my future posts, he’s planning lots of adventures 😉

So get in touch of you’re planning your long awaited holiday. You can rest assured that you’re in safe hands

Stay safe
