After what can only be described politely as an ‘awful two years’ for the travel industry it’s great to report that the last two months have been my busiest ever. Day by day restrictions for vaccinated travellers are being relaxed, the latest being the UAE and Iceland removing the need for PCR tests to enter. I’m seeing lots of people looking for last minute sunshine breaks but also looking to book their long awaited summer holidays, celebratory trips for anniversaries/big birthdays or just treating themselves to something they’ve wanted to do for ages.
I think its fair to say that the family market are still hesitant, with testing/vaccine requirements and the financial uncertainty (fuel prices, interest rate increases, shopping cost increases). I believe lots of families will be waiting for last minute holidays when they know what pot of money they have.
A lovely couple have just returned from getting married in Jamaica, this has been planned for a while and I’d like to thank them for giving me the privilege of trusting their biggest day with me. They had a great time, messaging me to say
“Hi Wendy, had a wonderful wedding yesterday. Hotel you booked us in is brilliant, they all are so friendly and accommodating. Food and entertainment is good. You did us proud yet again. Could not of asked for a nicer place. Got to decide where we going next”
. Congratulations Nicola and Alan!
UK breaks are still popular. Theatres are now open and the demand to see shows is huge! I’ve been to see The Jersey Boys, Les Mis, The Drifters Girl and Everyone’s talking about Jamie in the last few months alone!! Research suggests that the ‘staycation’ market will be big again this year, my advice is to book as early as possible!
River cruises are growing in popularity, partly in thanks to some fabulous deals including free flights or half price sailings! I recently held my first event at The Craythorne, feedback was fabulous and I will look at holding more throughout the year. Ensure you sign up to my newsletters so you don’t miss out!
The current situation in Ukraine is shocking and heart breaking. Of course this will affect anyone with plans to visit Ukraine or Russia, once again the tour operators and cruise lines are revising plans. I really hope for everyone’s sake this is resolved quickly.
We can now book through to spring ’24 for many holidays, paying a deposit at the time of booking and instalments help spread the costs.
I have lots planned for this year and next year! I’m hosting my first ladies only group to Tuscany in a few weeks, we will be wine tasting, sight seeing and have a cookery class included amongst other things. I’m hosting another group of ladies to Dubrovnik in September and I’m thinking of ideas for next year- maybe a springtime rivercruise with the bulbfields.
I always say I will never die rich but I’ll go knowing I squeezed everything possible in, I think the last two years have reminded us of this. So what are you waiting for? Get in touch and lets start planning your next adventure, wherever and whenever that may be.
