Wendy and her team booked us a holiday with Riviera Travel. We went on their Pompeii, Capri and the Bay of Naples tour which was a 7 night holiday based in Sorrento. We chose the Villa Maria Hotel as our base and it was great, a short walk takes you straight into the busy shopping, eating area of the town. It was very busy but always felt safe and relaxed. We found quieter areas too where we could sit and watch the world go by. Our trips were amazing, we went by ferry to Capri which is beautiful but incredibly busy. Paid extra for a guide and that also included a boat trip around the island which was well worth the extra money.
Herculaneum was fascinating, my only gripe here was that I felt the tour was a bit short. We left our hotel at 7.45, drove an hour and a half in each direction. Had an excellent guided tour of the ruins who lasted just under 2 hours. Back in the coach and back in Sorrento by 1pm! Amalfi Coast tour was amazing, such beautiful scenery and Pompeii was absolutely incredible, the place is enormous and so interesting. We were also treated to lunch at a farm on the outskirts of Sorrento which was lovely. We were shown how Mozzarella cheese was made and then got to eat it too. Our main guide Alex was brilliant, he was so knowledgeable and friendly too.
