Review of 2018 and looking forward to next year

2018 review

I can’t quite believe where on earth has this year gone?!

Before I update you I thought I’d give you a little review of my year.

Highlights

I celebrated 5 years in business and got to meet lots of you at my event on 19th November

I have raised over £2000 for the wonderful Me and Dee charity- that’s 6 holidays by the seaside for families with uncertain futures. Thank you for booking with me (I donated for every booking) and thank you for your donations.

I have had my busiest year so far booking lots of wonderful trips for you, these are a few that stood out for me this year;

Brian being surprised by a trip to Mauritius for his special birthday but then a bigger surprise when his family turned up

Nikki and Russ getting engaged in Thailand

Michael and Emma awesome Island hopping Greek honeymoon

Surprise trips to Disneyland and Lapland

Family visits to meet new grandchildren and other family in Australia and New Zealand

A family last minute holiday to Portugal to make special memories by the seaside as a last trip with their poorly grandad

Lots of honeymoons, birthdays, surprises, family holidays and romantic breaks…. THANK YOU

Linda and Phil on their Middle Eastern adventures for Linda’s special birthday

I just love hearing about your trips and really appreciate that these are your memory making trips, I feel so privileged to be part of it. As I write this I am smiling remembering your trips, I do get emotional when I think about them, memories that last a lifetime for you too.

Thank you for recommending me to your friends and family, please continue to tell everyone you know about my services, as a small business I really do appreciate it.

I’ve been to lots of amazing places: Portugal, Iceland, Norway, Madeira, Thailand, Riga, Bruges, the cruise to Guernsey that we didn’t get off! I’ve also enjoyed several UK breaks including Tina the Musical, Strictly Ballroom and Bat out of Hell in London. Each has been wonderful and different but the highlight has to be getting engaged in Madeira.

Looking ahead

Brexit uncertainty continues but it’s not putting you off booking your holidays. Some low-cost carriers report they are already 50% sold for next year and I’ve been busier than ever.

Christmas market breaks and Lapland breaks have been extremely popular and will be for next year too. Lapland is already bookable, New York and other cities are starting to become available for the end of the year too.

Sri Lanka is predicted to be THE destination of 2019. I can arrange tours, beach stays and multi centres. I’ve been here and my parents enjoyed a wonderful trip this year including a 3 day safari where they saw leopards, elephants and many more creatures.

Cruises and in particular river cruises will continue to grow in popularity with several new ships being launched.

‘Adventure’ travel will also continue to grow as tourists demand more than flopping on a beach for their annual breaks. Food tours, cycling holidays, spa & wellness breaks, animal encounters, snowy adventures and road trips are just a few of the most popular.

Who knows what the weather at home will be like but according to my recent survey over 60% of you plan to holiday abroad regardless.

I’ve got a new admin system being introduced so look out for new style quotes and paperwork but please forgive me if I’m a bit slow whilst I get to grips with it!!

Longhaul and winter 19/20 bookable now, summer shorthaul expected to be on sale around April- register your interest now!

P&O Iona sailings from May 2020 still have availability on the maiden season but it’s sold extremely well so don’t hang around if you don’t want to miss this boat!

I wish you all a happy Christmas, whatever you are doing. Here’s looking forward to helping you make lots of wonderful memories next year x
